Four ways to keep your pool clear
Pick how often you want a visit. Every regular visit covers the same full checklist, so the only difference between plans is the schedule.
-
Weekly service
The usual choice in FloridaA visit every week keeps chlorine steady, which matters most from late spring to fall, when heat and afternoon rain let algae take hold in a few days.
- Skim the surface and empty baskets
- Brush walls, steps and waterline
- Vacuum when needed
- Test and balance the water
- Check filter pressure and pump
-
Every other week
Same visit, half as oftenA good fit for screened pools with light use, if you're comfortable checking the water and adding chlorine between visits. In the hottest months, water can drift in two weeks.
- The full weekly checklist
- A visit every two weeks
-
One-time cleaning
No contractOne full cleaning when you need it: before a party or family visit, after a storm fills the pool with leaves, or when you move into a house.
- Debris removal, brushing and vacuuming
- Water test and balance
-
Green to blue
For green, cloudy or neglected poolsTreatment and cleaning until the water is clear again, planned around how green the pool is and the state of the filter. Afterward, you can move to a regular plan.
- Shock treatment and brushing
- Filter cleaning and vacuuming
- Rebalancing until the water is clear
How a green pool gets back to blue
Green water means algae is growing, usually because chlorine ran out or the filter stopped keeping up. The fix is chemistry, cleaning and filtration, in that order, repeated until the water stays clear.
How many visits it takes depends on how far the pool has gone and on the condition of the equipment. A photo is the fastest way to find out.

First treatment
Debris comes out, the water gets shocked and the walls and floor get brushed so the treatment reaches the algae.
Filter, vacuum, rebalance
Follow-up visits clean the filter, vacuum the dead algae and adjust the chemistry until the water clears.
Keep it blue
Once it's clear, a weekly or every-other-week plan keeps it from turning again.

(916) 628-6795 lgkservicellc@gmail.comQuestions people ask before they book
How much does pool service cost?
The price depends on the size of the pool, whether it has a screen enclosure, how many trees drop leaves into it and the current condition of the water. Text a photo of the pool and the address to (916) 628-6795 and Luis replies with a price for the plan you choose.
Should I choose weekly or every-other-week service?
Weekly service is the safer choice for most Florida pools, especially in the hot, rainy months, because algae can start growing within days when chlorine runs low. Every-other-week service suits screened pools with light use, where the owner is comfortable checking the water between visits.
How long does it take to turn a green pool blue?
It depends on how green the water is and on the condition of the filter and equipment. A lightly green pool clears faster than a pool that has been neglected for months. After seeing a photo, Luis explains how many visits to expect.
